Ayobayo consists of a combination of sit down and take away eating, with the menu catering to the demand for African ethnic foods in an up market vibey environment. The concept was developed over a number of years by a team of highly experienced restaurateurs, with the first three successfully operating stores which opened in 2008. The concept is fully supported by the operational infrastructure of the Dulce Group.
A number of franchised sites have been identified throughout South Africa and are available to be opened in the early half of 2009. Stores will be located within high traffic areas such as predominantly African malls, street side locations and close to taxi ranks visible to passing traffic.
Concept, Theme, Design and Finishes
- Ayobayo stores can vary in size from 65sqm to 150sqm
(plus some external seating - site dependent)
- Stores are designed to create a comfortable African ethnic environment with a warm and lively atmosphere
- Shop front will be glass with approx 7m sliding stacking doors, thereby improving visibility to the passing trade.
- The service counter bulkheads will have innovative menu light boxes which will include various menu food pics which will facilitate easy and quick menu item selection
- A plasma screen will feature colorful product graphics, music DVDs and sports events
- Tables and chairs will be durable and will fit in with the overall color scheme
- The concept will not date prematurely
- All operators will contribute towards a refurbishment fund, thereby enabling them to upgrade their stores when required to do so.
- All stores will be required to implement a major revamp every five years
