We named it Babies Online as we had a registered business, logo and business cards! We slowly started to test the market with regards to boutique clothes, quality educational toys and hard-to-find safety products. We were overwhelmed by the response!

After 13 months of trading we needed to expand and opened a second shop in a busy Mall situated in the Northern Suburbs of Bloemfontein. We were starting to think about franchising the concept and treated this as our ''concept'' store. It is 5 months later and we are bursting at the seams!

We currently stock the following products:

• South African Designer Label Clothes from newborn to 6/7 years of age.
  Brands include: Hooligans, Bug Zoo, Indygo, Mother's Choice and other local designers
• Bedding: Duvets, pillows, cot sheets, blankets,
• Baby assistance: Doughnuts, breastfeeding pillows, play mats
• Health for Pregnant Mommy: Vitamin supplements, Shakes
• All feeding, bathing, grooming, soothing, teething, health, and potty training baby goods
• Safety products: Swimming pool alarms, Firefly cell phones, Mommy I’m Here locators, Bath alarms, First aid kits, plug protectors, cupboards locks etc.
• Educational products – From birth to 10 years of age.
  This includes puzzles, blocks, building toys, activity toys, fabric soft toys, games, musical toys, role play, play food, flash cards and wall charts. Note: English and Afrikaans!
  Brands include: Melissa and Doug, Ben-Ho, SMILE (Yes! They are still around, but you can only buy products from shops)
• Books – From birth to 10 years of age.
  Includes all, baby board books, picture books, theme books, story books, Bible books, Rhyme books. English and AFRIKAANS!!!!

We are also nearing completion of our Franchise Agreement and should be rolling out physical stores from early 2010. The uniqueness of this concept is that the franchisee will be earning income from his physical shop PLUS our online shopping system without him/her needing to lift a finger with regards to the online shopping.
