Your Name:
This information would be used to contact you, the person submitting the listing, in respect of issues related to listing the business. This would also be the name of the person we would attempt to contact by telephone if we required further information about this listing.

Business Name:
This would be used by us to identify the "business for sale". Usually it would be the "Trading As" or registered company name. This name would also be used by ourselves in private mail and conversation with the seller for identification purposes. As with all information is the 'non-disclosed' section, it would NEVER be revealed or communicated to a prospective buyer.

Tel No.:
To be used for direct contact with the person specified under the first "Your Name" field. The fax number that follows would not normally be used for any type of communication due to the sensitive nature of inadvertantly disclosing the seller's intentions to sell.

Postal Address:
To be used as a mailing address for contact purposes should we not be able to raise a response from yourself via the other specified contact avenues (such as e-mail or fax).
For confidentiality purposes you might want to use a home or other address here.

eMail Address:
As with the telephone number and mailing address above, this e-mail address would be used for direct contact purposes. This is not necessarily the e-mail address that would be used for website visitors to contact you, if you elected for that method of contact.
It is a mandatory requirement to complete this field which means that there must be some data in this field. If you do not have an e-mail address, do not want to provide one or do not want to be contacted in this manner; then please enter the e-mail address someone@somewhere.com   The Webpro server software actually validates this address so a string of gibberish data would be rejected.

Title Line:
A short description of the business and it's activities. Limited to 70 characters. This short description is the "title" that is shown on the "results listing" report which a visitor generates from a search against criteria. It should therefore be relevant and give that site visitor a good indication of the nature of the business.

Full Description:
When the visitor singles out one an item from the "results listing", then a "Full Detail" report for that business will be generated. This full description would be prominently displayed at the top of this report in place of the title line.

City or Town:
The name of the city or town in which the business is located. If you wish to withhold this information for identity concealment purposes, then enter "info withheld" into the field as this is a mandatory field.
Use the broader context of area.   ie. if in Pinetown enter Durban here (or Johannesburg for Isando) on the basis that someone looking for a purchase in Durban will not go hunting down Amanzimtoti, Pinetown and Glen Anil while any one of those areas would be suitable. Enter Pinetown either into the Location field or else behind Durban after a comma separator.

Location in City or Town:
The more information that visitors are provided with, the more likely that the enquiries you receive will be relevant and targeted. This field provides visitors with information identifying the industrial area or suburb where the business is physically located. While an important issue in large industrial centres and cities, you might want to omit this field for a smaller town.
You might want to withhold this information if confidentiality is an issue.

Portability:
This refers to the suitability of the business for physical relocation to another geographic area. This does not relate to a move within the same town but more to a move between provinces or even SADEC countries. Most businesses cannot be moved in this manner because of logistics related to servicing customers and being accessed by suppliers. But some businesses are very "transplantable" (especially in the information industry) and it can be that the major asset is a licence or sole distributorship.
If the Portability Indicator is set to High; then the details for this business would be returned in searches when a specific Province / State has been requested which would normally exclude this record. ie. Search for "Financial Services" sector businesses in the Western Cape and a KZN business would be returned if it was in this sector and if the portability was set to "High".

If you leave this field blank, then the system will display comment on the portability as per the High/ Medium/ Low /Zero choice.

High : Highly Portable - Can be operated from almost anywhere without much disruption of operations.
Medium : Moderately Portable - Possible to relocate with some disruption and cost. Would not be advisable
Low : Low Portability - Relocation is not possible. But there may be limited value in licences, patents, technology or access to clients and suppliers which would add value to a similar operation at another location taking over
Zero : Zero Portability - This business can only operate from the area specified. There is no potential whatever for it to be relocated elsewhere.
You may wish to rather use a variant of one the above comments as your portability description. Simply cut and paste from the above text back into the form and then modify the comment there.

Keywords for Searching:
When a visitor enters search keyword(s) in the "Search Listings", then three fields are searched for at least one instance of the search criteria. The title, full description, and keyword fields are searched. Use this section to list all the possible relevant words that might be entered. Plurals should also be considered and where the addition of a solitary "s" denotes the plural you can omit the singular.

Indication Price:
Admittedly not an easy question to hit you between the eyes with, but it is extremely relevant in that this enables visitors to screen out purchases that are outside of their budgets. The following field, price conditions, enables you to qualify the nature of the quoted price in whatever terms you wish.
Results are displayed in descending price order which presents another consideration. If you withhold the price information, (which you are obviously entitled to do) then your entry will nearly always be the last presented in a "results listing" and will consequently be viewed by fewer visitors. Rather quote a price and enter the "price flexibility" as "broad indication pricing".

Price Conditions:
Read in conjunction with INDICATION PRICE above. This can be a qualification as to how fixed or negotiable the indication price. You can provide details here of turnover clauses and other warranties for buyers.

This is not a mandatory field and can be left blank if needed. But the primary use would be to qualify the price if needed. Typical entries would be:
• Negotiable, subject to conditions.
• Only full cash price offers will be accepted
• Buyers must prove access to a minimum of R2million unencumbered cash
• Stock excluded, to value at time of sale
• Lock, stock and barrel price
• 75% cash, 25% on terms to 12 months

But you should not suggest "Negotiable" or "Make an offer" or "Or Nearest Cash Offer" unless you realise this will encourage counter offers and you are really willing to accept a much lower price.

Net Profit:
The prospective buyer will initially rely on this figure to estimate the potential return on this purchase relative to the price, and will also be making estimates of revenue return on a monthly basis in terms of being able to draw out profits. You should not overstate this figure as it would be one of the first issues that a potential buyer will investigate and if it is found to be overstated there would be an immediate loss of credibility and damage to the negotiation process.
It is common practice, in business sales, to provide a profit figure that is:
- Nett of tax
- Excludes cost of interest
- Provides for an owners salary, even if the owner does not draw one.

No. of Staff:
This assists the buyer in assessing the requirement for the management of human resources, an issue of importance for many. You can provide additional information, such as "50 salaried, 220 on wages" or be specific similar to "15 Durban H/O, 16 field reps".

Other Information:
Use this area to provide information that will assist the buyer in assessing the suitability of the business to his requirements. This could typically include information on market and product strengths, ownership of patents and agreements, details of leases for premises, the stability of the current employees and plans for management to effect the change of ownership and control.
